Redlin farms is one of the first farms established
in northern Codington County of South Dakota. Our great grandfather,
Julius, homesteaded on SEC4 TWP1194 RANGE52 in Dakota Territory
in 1881. The homestead was bordered on the west side by the Sisseton-Wahpeton
Indian Reservation. The area at that time was a treeless plain of
prairie grass, buffalo, elk, prairie chickens and other wildlife.
Since that time this land has stayed part of the Redlin family to
the current time. The farm has grown in size to include many thousands
of acres.

HUNTING DOGS -
Please feel free to bring your dogs, as we do
have kennel facilities, as well as a practice area. We also have
a trainer available to help sharpen your dogs' skills. We do have
many highly trained dogs as well as guides at our disposal to assure
you of a good, quality hunt.
WATERFOWL -
Many species of ducks and geese use this area.
Mallards, teal, gadwells, pintails, blue bills, snows, blues, honkers,
swans and many others can and will be part of your daily bag limit.
Non-resident waterfowl licenses are limited, so be sure to check
out the availability or call us and we will assist you in securing
permits.
PHEASANTS & UPLAND BIRDS -
Pheasants, our state bird, as well as grouse,
and the Hungarian partridge, are a big part of our operation. We
offer two types of pheasant hunting: traditional and preserve hunting.
Ask and we will explain what fits your needs best.
FISHING -
In South Dakota, we have two different types
of fishing, both very different styles: open water (summer time)
and ice fishing. Both types provide the same result; pure enjoyment.
Late season pheasant hunting and ice fishing in the same day fulfills
any sportsman's dream.
BUFFALO & DEER HUNTING -
Buffalo hunting is a rare opportunity that mirrors
the South Dakota heritage that attracted famous buffalo hunters
to our state in the days of the Dakota Territory. We work very hard
to make your buffalo hunt authentic and an event you won't forget.
Non-resident deer hunting in eastern South Dakota is limited by
license availability for firearms. Archery licenses are readily
available. call and we can provide details to do everything we can
to secure the necessary tags. There are very few areas in South
Dakota that harvest more deer each year than on our land.

Redlin Farms has had its many ups and downs
in the past one and a quarter centuries, with mother nature
being the determining factor, but one of a very few select
farms that has survived. Over the years many changes have
taken place, such as breaking of the prairie, planting hundreds
of acres of trees, building buildings, establishing farm sites,
building and establishing water sources, introducing pheasants
and continually implementing new conservation practices. Today,
you will see a much larger array of vegetation and wildlife
than when our great grandfather first saw this area. On a
daily basis, you will see deer, ducks, geese, pheasant, grouse,
partridge and many other wild animals in the area. All Redlin's
have a share of this rich history and have a right to be proud
in the fact we are not willing to let go of our heritage.
Redlin Farms is now owned by Frank and Wallace Redlin. |
